  • Contact Information: Your mobile phone number, customer name, and optional delivery/pickup notes.
  • Order Data: Details of items deposited (e.g. garments, bedsheets, blankets, curtains), order weight, drop-off date, order status, and billing details.
  • Authentication Data: One-Time Password (OTP) request timestamps and verification session tokens used to secure your order tracking portal.
  • Technical Data: Browser type, operating system, IP address, and anonymous usage analytics to improve website speed and accessibility.

3. WhatsApp Business & SMS Communications Policy

We use SMS and the WhatsApp Business Platform (provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to communicate with you regarding your orders.

  • Transactional Notifications: When you drop off garments or place an order, we send automated messages detailing your receipt, OTP authentication code, order status updates (e.g. Washing, Drying, Ready for Pickup), and digital bills.
  • Consent & Opt-In: You provide consent to receive transactional updates when submitting your mobile phone number for order creation or real-time tracking on magicwash.lk.
  • Third-Party Platform Disclosure: Messages sent via WhatsApp pass through Meta's infrastructure. Meta processes message metadata according to the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. We do not sell or misuse your phone number.
  • Opt-Out Mechanism: You can opt out of receiving promotional communications at any time by replying "STOP" to any WhatsApp message, or by emailing us at magicwashlk@gmail.com. (Note: Transactional OTPs are required to log into your tracking dashboard).

4. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used strictly for legitimate business purposes:

  • Processing, cleaning, tag identification, and returning your laundry items.
  • Authenticating your identity via SMS/WhatsApp OTP when logging into order tracking.
  • Responding to customer service inquiries, lost item reports, or feedback.
  • Complying with applicable legal, taxation, and regulatory obligations in Sri Lanka.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data to advertisers or third parties. We only share necessary data with trusted service providers under confidentiality agreements:

  • Meta Platforms, Inc. / WhatsApp: For dispatching WhatsApp order status notifications.
  • SMS Telecom Gateways: For delivering real-time OTP verification SMS codes.
  • Web Infrastructure Providers: Host servers and database storage with SSL/TLS encryption.

6. Data Security & Retention

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of your personal information. Session tokens expire automatically after inactive periods. We retain order history data for standard business accounting and warranty resolution purposes.
